The Fallen Angels...
The Fallen Angels VACW was created on August 6, 2001 by FA_Intruder, FA_IKKYO and FA_Palomo. Having been in a number of squads prior to the FA, the founders quickly identified why squad longevity was so limited and set out to reverse that trend.
The main objective was to make being a part of a squad an enjoyable experience. Three topics were identified as being critical to the success of any squad. They are:
- Identify and clearly communicate the goals of the squad. Every member must understand the objectives and how they will be obtained.
- Delegate responsibility and power. Generally speaking, the concentration of responsibility and power resides with the leaders. Too much of either of these given to one individual is a recipe for failure. Running a squad ceases to be enjoyable if the work load is too great. That attitude will filter down through the members very quickly and they will lose their enthusiasm. Every member is willing to contribute to the success of the group and by giving them some responsibilities they have a vested interest in the success of the squad.
- Open exchange of ideas and opinions. This falls in line with the previous topic. Members must feel that their opinions matter while leaders must be willing to listen and discuss the issues.
This formula has worked well for the FA and that is why most of the current members have been with the squad since its inception
